Don’t Starve Your Memory!!!!! Please Pass The Tumeric — ‘Arff, Arff&#821

Brain Exercises, Diet for a Small Planet, Good Foods for Memory, Tumeric,Therapy for Memory Issues

Forgetting to Eat is Deadly for Your Memory

It’s that time of year…everyone I know is on a diet. The Whole 30, the Keto, the Beverly Hills Diet (Ha, “JK” remember all that Pineapple?)

Here’s when dieting isn’t worth it…

As we age we can often forget to eat until we are famished. It’s as if our hunger warning system stopped working and then all of a sudden hours have passed and we realize we need to eat something. DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

Forget all the pop science trending diets like Keto & 16 hour fasting trends and pay attention to nourishing your brain. Don’t miss a meal just make it smaller and healthier. Read up on how to use food, not necessarily vitamins to nourish your brain. And, if you need a little help, send me an email, I know a great SKYPING DIETICIAN. Email to: Mymemorypal@gmail.com.

If you often forget, set two alarms on your phone for each meal time or snack (make sure you eat before you become famished or you will over eat.) This way you can regulate the amount of nourishment getting to your brain.

Also be careful where you get your information from. Today my yoga buddy said, “Did you know that Tumeric isn’t digestible unless you eat pepper with it?” I asked where she got her info from and we both laughed when she said “The Gym.” Read below for more valid info on this subject.

Here are a few foods that seem to be highly recommended from a variety of sources but check with your doctor if you have any health issues:

Fatty Fish

Nuts (I lowered my cholesterol by eating 1 ounce of walnuts and going vegan for 3 months.)

Dark Chocolate (in moderation and good quality)

Blueberries and other berries.

Broccoli

“Is Turmeric Only Effective with Black Pepper?

Question: I recently read that turmeric is only effective if it is combined with black pepper. Is this true?

Answer: Black pepper is not necessary for turmeric to be effective, but it can be helpful. Black pepper contains a compound, piperine, which inhibits the metabolic breakdown of turmeric compounds in the gut and the liver. This allows higher levels of turmeric compounds to remain in the body (i.e., it increases its bioavailability), which may increase the effects of turmeric. Keep in mind that this can also affect the breakdown of other compounds, including certain drugs. You can get more details about this in the Turmeric (Curcumin) Supplements Review.

Be aware that the biggest problem with turmeric is making sure that its compounds are absorbed from the gut. You will absorb little if turmeric is not taken with along with fats or oils, which is why it’s best to take turmeric and curcumin with a meal containing fats or oils. Black pepper does not help with absorption. Special formulations of turmeric and curcumin supplements have been developed to increase absorption and bioavailability of turmeric compounds. Details about these are also found Turmeric (Curcumin) Supplements Review, noted above.”
